OMG! I can’t believe I’m doing this! A blog from the girl that struggled in school. Do you know what a blog is? It’s a bunch of words and alot of writting and thinking. It’s really all the stuff I never thought I would be doing. I’m left handed and super right brained! Give me scissors or tell me to make something with my hands and I’m in it to win it. Tell me there is a spelling bee and I’ll be like take me out coach. I’ll watch!

I’m a small town girl that was blessed with some amazing teachers. In Junior High my mom was really worried about me because, yes I was struggling to understand all the things I needed to understand. My mom met with a teacher and expressed her concerns and the teacher replied “You don’t need to worry about her she has drive and will go places in life.” This eased my mom’s mind and because of that attitude of others it put NO cap on my abilities.

For example: I had passed my Cosmetology test and had just graduated from a school that I had been cutting the staffs hair. I felt pretty confident in my new career, until training at my first job. That left handed issue would come backup again! Because I did things alittle different than my right handed assistant manager she told me ” You should just quit, you”ll never get it”. I got done with my day and I called my mom crying and told her what had happened. She replied “Have you ever let anyone tell you that you couldn’t do something?” I cried “No” and she said “Then why are you going to start now?” Needless to say I became Employee of the Year the very same year I was told to Quit.

If I can do it, you can too. Don’t let anyone tell you different especially yourself! God made you just like you are right in this very minute.

Exodus 4:10-11 ” Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You spoken to your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” So the Lord said to him, ” Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?”

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me.”

  6. Thank you for sharing your story!! Your transparency will not only help you but many others. I am bad at looking at someone or someone’s big house and thinking their life must be perfect. Why can’t my life be like that? But the older I get the more I realize we all have struggles and I think we would be better off if we shared it. I look forward to reading more of your story.

    1. I do the same thing but I definitely know I have spent a lot of time making things look much better because social media likes it that way, but I want to be real so that maybe others can do the same thing. Thank you for joining this journey with me. I really hope it will help someone!
